The voucher holder will have a one to one wheel throwing session with Jo at Breakfortheboder Studio. The session will last 2.5 hours and will be booked in advance direct with Jo. No experience required, Jo is used to teaching beginners. During the session you will be taught:
how to centre clay on the wheel; how to pull up clay to create a pot; how to shape and trim the pot. There will be plenty of hands on time on the wheel with unlimited clay to practice. The three best pots will be chosen to be fired. The voucher holder will be able to choose up to two glazes per pot (added by Jo when the pots have dried).
Collection from the studio after the items have been fired.
Anyone who is creative, curious or a keen watcher of the Great Pottery Throwdown will love this experience. One for the bucket list! Jo has taught a range of students, all of whom are beginners, so she is used to starting right at the basics. Jo's teaching style is relaxed, informative and hands-on. It's important to remember that you will be at the very beginning of your wheel throwing journey - it's not a skill that can be learnt immediately, like many activities, it takes time, repetition and practice. You are encouraged to enjoy the experience, not just focus on the final outcome.
